Graduate of K.P.H.S. - Has
Been Stationed Overseas
Several Months


    Lt. Arthur W. Heiden, son of
Otto Heiden, Burton, was among
the fighter pilots credited with
shooting down a Nazi plane in
Saturday's fierce aerial engage-
ment over Europe, according to
announcements over radio news
broadcasts this week.

    Heiden was graduated from
the Keya Paha County High
School with the class of 1942. He
was prominent in school ath-
letics, lettering in football, bas-
ketball and track. Always inter-
ested in aviation, Arthur was an
apt student in aeronautics and
science.

    Heiden enlisted in the Army
Air Corps shortly following hs
graduation from high school, and
has been in overseas duty sev-
eral months.
