I returned back to the states to Headquarters Troop Command, Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas. I served there for three years (28 Feb 81 to 28 May 84), and then I volunteered to go to Germany and do a long tour assignment. I served as Personnel Sergeant (E-7), Personnel Actions Supervisor, Personnel Staff NCO, Senior Personnel Sergeant (E-7), and Personnel Administration Center Supervisor. I was promoted to Sergeant First Class on 1 Dec 83 with date of rank 29 Nov 83, by the Commanding General, Brooke Army Medical Center.
