  The 4th Ohio Infantry, Company "F" is a non-profit organization that is a
 dedicated group of Civil War living history re-enactors who portray the
 union soldier with authentic clothing and camp life as our ancestors knew 
 it.In this endeavor we hope to educate the public to the best of our
 abilities so that the terrible conflict that tore this great nation apart
 will ever remain an important part of our American Heritage.
  The 4th Ohio,in the war for the union, made up of companies raised in the
Northern Central part of the State of Ohio, in the counties of Wayne, Stark
Knox, Delaware, Marion and Hardin, and mostly from the cities of Wooster,
Canton,Mount Vernon, Delaware, Marion and Kenton. Within one week after
President Lincoln had issued his Proclamation calling for seventy-five
thousand men to serve for three months, was composed principally of young 
men from prominent families and comfortable homes of farmers, merchants,
mechanics and the various professions, and who also had more than ordinary 
facilities for education and improvement.
  The 4th Ohio Volunteer Infantry was organized at Columbus,OH.,on the 26th 
of April, 1861, to serve for three months.  
  On the 24th of June 1861 the Regiment belong to the "Army of Occupation,"
under the command of General McClellan and were brigaded with the Ninth Ohio
under the command of Colonel McCook. The theater of operation was in the area
of Clarksburgs, West Virginia.
  On the 22nd of October, General Kelley, commanding, recieved orders to 
move his command to Romney and assume command of the Departments of Harper's
Ferry and Cumberland. Operations took place in the theater of the northern
part of Shenandoah aganst General Stonewall Jackson's command.
  By late fall of 1862, as part of the Army of the Potomac, Second Corp,
the 4th Ohio was brigaded with the 8th Ohio, 14th Indiana, 7th West Virginia
and 24th and 28th New Jersey. Popularly known as the "Gibralter Brigade,"
(nicknamed by General Edwin V.Sumner at Antietam), it fought through the 
sanguinary battles of Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg,the
Wilderness And Spottsylvania.                    
    
  This re-enacting unit operates mostly in the East Theater events and is
