BUGLER TIMES A Publication of the MidAtlantic Reenactor's Association July/August 1998 Volume 1, Issue 2 From the President: Hopefully everyone is pleased with my decision to work with Colonel Don Heitman with the Indiana Brigade. Because of the connections Mr. Heitman has with Colonel Chris Ableson of the Western Brigade, we ended up being part of the 1st Division under Major General David Valuska of the National Regiment. I was extremely pleased how the Western Brigade treated our Battalion and welcomed us with open arms. I can honestly say without a doubt or any reservations that MidAtlantic Reenactors Association has finally made the Big Time. If no one else heard the talk around Command headquarters, I did, and they were all surprised how fast we have reconstructed the old 12th Corps into a force to be reckoned with in the future. Just because we have made head way with the organizers of the big events doesn't mean we can sit on our laurels, we still need to recruit more companies and men to rill our ranks. I personally would like to thank all the members of this fine association in all our accomplishments so far this year. Don't forget the year is still young and we have a long way to go to achieve our goals. Our next battalion maximum effort event will be the Lisbon, Ohio event. Make sure your company, troop, or battery is registered for this event. One final note of congratulation is do to our great MidAtlantic Reenactors Association. And a special note of thanks to our Battalion Commissary which feed nearly 150 people a day at the Gettysburg event. Once again thank you one and all for helping me accomplish the goals of the MidAtlantic Reenactors Association. Respectfully your humble servant, Lt. Col. Alan Grover 1st Battalion Agrover@raex.com |
