January 2001

We made it 69 days this time, making a steady progression in the time  between seizures. The seizures this month happened on Jan 15th and consisted of 2 GM's, one lasting 3 mins and the other lasting 1 min.

In himself Bram has been OK although there have been times when he will just stare into space, oblivious to the world.  Also we are having problems with ataxia and urinary incontinence - he will suddenly start urinating on himself (sometimes when he is awake, sometimes when he is asleep), seemingly unaware he is doing so.

We repeated his labwork and were slightly anxious about increased liver enzymes, however this is to be expected in dogs on long term anti seizure medications so we are just keeping a close eye on him, repeating a bile acid test every 3 months to hopefully catch any problems before they become to advanced.  Thankfully his PB and KBr levels came back where we expected them to be and the rest of his bloodwork was within normal limits.
