Welcome to Sam and Lady's Doghouse. It is with GREAT sadness that I must inform you of Sam's passing. He was a HUGE presence in our lives.
I hope you will continue into the website and get to know Sam as we and countless other visitors to the "Doghouse" have come to know him.
Please keep Lady in your prayers . . . she is very lonely without Sam.
Samson Desi Scott was mercifully allowed eternal rest on Monday, December 29, 2003, in the loving arms of his Mom and Dad. He was born on August 3, 1992, and enjoyed a long life as a pampered furchild. He fought a very brave battle with cancer during the last several months of his life.
He is survived by his loving parents, Roger & Laurie Scott, his half-sister and life-long partner-in-crime, Lady Francescia Scott, his big brother and his family, Corey, Peggy, Elizabeth, and Naomi Scott, his "adopted" big sister, Tabith Andrews Tyson, his "adopted" big brother Richard Stairs, and two very special "aunties" ~ Donna Knoop and Joan Hall.
He was beautifully groomed with love ~ first by his breeder, Karen Folsom, of Karen's K-9 Kennels in Ludlow, Maine, from where he was adopted, and then by Emily Thompson of Thompson's Grooming in Brewer, Maine, after moving to the Bangor area in 1996.
He was expertly and lovingly cared for by the staff of the Brewer Veterinary Clinic, and our sincerest and warmest thanks go especially to Dr. Feher for his care and concern over Sam during his battle with cancer and in helping us to determine when we would have to allow Sam to pass mercifully.
The Brewer Veterinary Clinic is also providing cremation services, and a private memorial service will be held when we bring Sam back "home" where he will be joined once again with his favorite ball and squeaky bunny.
His gentle spirit and sparkling little personality brought joy not only to us but to everyone, and he became a regular part of Mom's Thursday night scrapbooking group, making his way from person to person, resting his head on everyone's knee so they could pat him, then making his way to the next person. He was especially fond of Phyllis Bishop, the "Biscuit Lady" who faithly brings doggie biscuits to every class for the furchildren.
His absence leaves a huge hole in our hearts. His body may be taken from us, but his spirit will always be with us. He loved the outdoors, and his spirit will now freely and forever chase the wild turkeys and taunt the squirrels. He was so happy all the time, and his tail never stopped wagging, right up until the moment he died. Every day had a happy "ending", and we will especially miss that.
His light here on earth has been snuffed out, but the light he put in our hearts will never go out. He is constantly with us in the twinkle of the stars, the warmth of the sun, the miracle of the rainbows, the beauty of the flowers, and the caress of the breeze on our faces. Our "Little Man" and "Buddy" is gone from this earth, but never, ever forgotten.
Lovingly created by Sam's
"Aunt Gloria"
