How did you find this site?: Looking for conure pages.
Do you have a bird?: My sun conure died last night. I have a quaker parrot still.
How long have you had it/them?: The Sun Conure (named Pele after the Hawaiian sun god) had been with us 5 years.

Comments:
Pele decided to jump off his cage last night, and my pet dachsund (who'd been after the bird for years) picked up Pele and literally ripped him open. I'm heartbroken, crying every five minutes. Pele was my baby bird. I loved him and I miss him so much. So I've been looking for pictures of sun conures so that I can use their head shapes as a reference to draw a picture of Pele. Thanks for having this website.

Glad to see you have this dedicated site, it is very helpful. As new conure family, we are naturally interested in all factual & annecdotal info to help us raise a happy & healthy pet. He/She does not have a name yet, we are waiting to see what fits. Purc ased her from a nice & conscientious local breeder, conure is well behaved 1 year old & sweet as sugar. In fact Sugar may be a good name...who knows what she/he will end up as! Anyhow, we are madly in love with this bird already. Is there any information you'd like to share?: We absolutely love our Sun Conure! She super friendly and although we think she's too spoiled because of us...:) she is a great bird for a young couple like us.
What's the very best pet parrot?: We compared a lot of birds before we bought "Pompi" and by far the best bird breed we found were the Conure family. We fell in love with the Suns but all Conures are very good pets.

Do you have a bird?: A?!? I went past "a" bird a long time ago...
What kinds?: Finches, doves, budgies, 'tiels, lovebirds, Green Cheek Conures, Brown Head parrots, African grey, Goffin's 'too, soon (another) Quaker, soon...?
How long have you had it/them?: I've been keeping birds (in general) for 4 yrs. I've had the Green Cheek conure pair for 3. Most around 1-2 yrs.
Is there any information you'd like to share?: Duh... whaddaya wanna know?
What's the very best pet parrot?: I choose not to say as the answer might tend to incriminate me. ;-)

Hi! Nice site! I run the Green Cheek Conure Homepage (members.xoom.com/gcc), but have been cruising for Sun sites just recently. I never thought about getting a Sun before, but now there's a possibility I might... never been my favorite conure species, mostly because I envy their popularity (there's SO many other GREAT conure species out there, why are SUNS so popular?!?)... But now that I might get one I'm pretty excited! As for what's the best pet parrot? It's awfully hard to choose and even harder o voice my opinion (especially running a green cheek site!), but sorry, I gotta say Quaker! But, conures (in general) run an awfully close second!

Do you have a bird?: Why yes, Bibo and Ming.
What kinds?: Bibo is a sun conure and Ming is a canary.
How long have you had it/them?: Bibo I've had for 5 months and Ming for two.
Is there any information you'd like to share?: I'm trying to right now!
What's the very best pet parrot?: I think I would say Cockatoos, but the idea of codependant birds appeals to me greatly!
