Aprhodite is the classic example of dumb-blondism in dogs. I do truly believe that she is intelligent, but she sure doesn't act that way! We got Phro from a local breeder. My dad said her daddy is the biggest golden retriever he has ever seen. She was not the "Alpha" of the litter, just the biggest. You know the pictures of puppies on the back of a bag of puppy food that is labeled "heavy"? That picture looks just like she did when we got her: a little fat butterball.
Phro use to be the top dog at in our little pack, but then the tide shifted and now she is the one who gets picked on. She does not like to play rough like Trixie and Draco; she growls at Trixie when she tries to get her to play. She is the most obnoxious dog currently on the face of the earth.
Aphrodite doesn't like to play any dog games either. She's not crazy about obedience or agility, but she could probably stand flyball since she has a serious tennis ball dependence. That's about the only thing she does like to do, carry a tennis ball in her mouth. She also does a little tracking, but just for fun.
Phro is about 70 lbs. and stands exactly one inch above the upper end of the golden retriever standard for a bitch. She doesn't have much of a coat, very thin. It is a golden color.
Phro is a good dog, but I truly wonder about her sometimes...
