We were just sitting around one day, wondering where to put the ugly kitty litter boxes so they wouldn't be so 'in our face'...

Then, the Kitty Kondo concept was born, and after a couple of days of figuring, we got to work!

Days 1 and 2 of construction.....

The frame is together and there's Roy, showing us what the roof will look like!

There's Roy again, cutting wood and getting ready to raise the roof beams! Wow, it's going to be really nice, eh?

We Have Frame! Now, we move the kitty kondo inside the cat's screened in room, where it will permanently live.

WOT'S THIS? Daks does a premilinary 'walk through' of the premises...I think she approves!

Now we start the detail work...this is stuff Dave and I can do!

Dave screens the kondo's windows, and Debbie paints them...

Here's Dave, tiling the floor of the kondo - we want the kitties to have a nice floor to walk on!

We didn't want just a plain old house, so we decided to add a gable, which would give the kitties a nice little 1-cat sized loft inside

The gable is attached to the roof, and there's the little loft - it will be nice with a piece of lamb's wool on it, and the kitties will have a half moon window to look out when it's done!

Well, it's starting to look like a little house! Dave wants to show us what the windows will look like...

Oh, here we go...more walk throughs and inspections!
Daks checking out the interior and the Duchess checking out the exterior
Daks certainly approves of the loft area!

Here we are, several days later, all ready to finish the kitty kondo! Roy got the saw out and started cutting trim, and Dave got out the paintbrush.

We got the tar paper on the roof and then the task of shingling begins.

The roof is coming along nicely...all we have to do is figure out how to shingle the gabled part!

Roy, Dave, and our friend Maryann continue roofing while Sid checks out the window.

We're getting ready for the finishing touches...Roy installs the 'fan window' for the kitties to look out of from the loft. Debbie decided it would be a good thing to dip the knobs for the back doors in the paint bucket - didn't work too well except to paint fingers!

It's coming along nicely! Almost done!

We're on the home stretch now!The kitty kondo is complete, except for trimming out the chimney and setting it in place!

The cats seem to like their new little palace!

Here's Daks, looking out the loft window

Sid likes the loft, too!

Here's the last part of construction - the chimney is going on! Once it is trimmed out, the kitty kondo will be complete!
