SPAY AND NEUTER INSTRUCTIONS

FOR YOUR NEW PET



THE DUE DATE FOR YOUR NEWLY ADOPTED PET’S SPAY OR NEUTER IS ON THE CONTRACT.


YOU MUST CALL THE VETERINARY CLINIC LISTED ON YOUR CONTRACT TO MAKE YOUR OWN APPOINTMENT FOR THE SPAY OR NEUTER.


YOU MUST PROVIDE THEM YOUR CASE # LOCATED IN THE UPPER RIGHT SIDE OF THE CONTRACT AND BRING THE CONTRACT WITH YOU WHEN YOU GO FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT.


P.A.L.S. IS RESPONSIBLE ONLY FOR THE BASIC CHARGE FOR SPAY OR NEUTER. ANY ADDITIONAL CHARGES THAT YOU REQUEST OR AGREE TO FOR PAIN MEDICATION, BLOODWORK, ETC. WILL BE YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.


THIS IS CONSIDERED MAJOR SURGERY


DO NOT SCHEDULE SURGERY WHEN YOUR NEW PET IS IN HEAT.


WAIT AT LEAST 30 DAYS AFTER COMPLETION OF THE HEAT CYCLE FOR DOGS.


REMOVE FOOD AND WATER BY 10 PM THE NIGHT BEFORE SURGERY.


AFTER SURGERY YOUR PET MUST BE CONFINED OR KEPT QUIET FOR THE FIRST DAYS AFTER SURGERY (NO JUMPING OR ROUGH-HOUSING).

PLEASE MINIMIZE ANY EXERCIZE. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT TO MAKE SURE THAT YOUR PET’S STITCHES REMAIN INTACT AND HEAL PROPERLY.


IF STITCHES COME OUT CALL THE VETERINARIAN IMMEDIATELY. ANY ADDITIONAL CHARGES FOR RE-SUTURING AND OFFICE VISIT WILL BE YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.
