Keystone's King Kirby

Hi, It's me again, Kirby. Or as my papers say, "Keystone's King Kirby". I'm an AKC Registered Keeshond. I was born on April 29, 1995. I'm the baby of the family. My family spoils me rotten. I can get away with anything.

Just let that Kody tell on me one more time for getting in the garbage or stealing my mom's pantyhose. I'll show him. I'll go pee on the kitchen floor and they'll think he did it 'cause he's new and sometimes forgets to go out the dog door. (He doesn't really forget. I just lay in front of it, and then he can't get out.)

I'm not too happy about sharing the attention with that new thing, Kody. He thinks he's the boss. He used to growl at me all the time, and take my food. My family rescued him from a shelter in Boston and they say I have to learn to like him. (Fat Chance!)

Hi, Kody here! I'm a purebred Keeshond too! I just don't have my papers. You see, I was treated very badly by one member of my family, and ended up on my own on the streets of Boston. Some nice people from the shelter there picked me up and gave me some food. After awhile, some people came and got me out of the shelter and drove me to another person, and then to another person, and another. Finally when I went to the next person, that person kept me.

She's my new Mom. She's really nice. She feeds me every day, gives me treats, plays with me, pets me, baths me, and brushes me. Sometimes though I remember that awful man who mistreated me. Sometimes I think my new Dad is him and I try to bite him. But he doesn't hit me like that other man did.

If only I could see better. I'm seven years old, and have something my Mom calls cataracts. She said as soon as she has enough money, she will get my eyes fixed because she loves me and wants me to see her and my new Dad.

Oh, by the way, they have taken me to this Vet man a couple of times. The last time though was pretty bad. I went there and they stuck needles in me and I went to sleep. When I woke up I had pain between my legs. My Mom tried to put this creamy stuff on it, but I wouldn't let her. It hurt! It's all better now though. Actually, this Vet visit must have been a good thing because I don't have to stay in my crate at all anymore! My Mom says I'm getting nicer now. I get to sleep at the bottom of her bed with that big fat baby Kirby. If I growl at him enough, he'll jump off the bed. Ha Ha!

Note from Kody's mom: Kody had to be helped to the Rainbow Bridge on July 3, 2002. Kody was about 12 years old then, and had inoperable tumors that were causing internal bleeding. Good Bye Dear Friend. We miss you!
