An accident that could have been prevented...

Today after unloading my groceries from the plastic bags, I left the empty bags on the kitchen counter. It is not unusual for me to hear the rustle of those bags as my young adult cat loves playing in them. I think the crinkle of plastic is her favorite thing.

A couple of hours later, when I returned to the kitchen, I found my cat, limp and gasping for her last breath. She had gotten her head in the handle of one on the bags and twisted and turned until she was trapped and strangling. It wasn't to late for her, but it very well could have been. I never stopped to think how very dangerous these plastic sacks can be. It could very well have happened to a playful pup, or any pet with a neck.
One more good reason to ask for 'paper'.

Tip from Dogs World ... Cats love the crinkle of those bags, try putting them in a pillow case with a zipper or sewing up the ends....
