Brown Swiss
| ||
Since 1869 the Brown Swiss breed has been developing and improving in the United States. Brown Swiss were originally developed in Switzerland as a multi-purpose breed valued for the quantity and quality of milk they produced, for their meat, and for their drafting abilities.
Today, we have a fine-tuned dairy animal that will adapt to the most rigorous of climates and conditions. U.S. Brown Swiss breeders have carefully maintained and improved upon the attractive features that have permitted the Brown Swiss cow to become one of the oldest breeds in the world.
High volumes of solids-rich milk, superb udders, large strong frames with exceptional feet and legs, and docile temperaments have allowed the Brown Swiss to prve themselves in the milk pail, in the world's marketing arena, and in the test of time.
