Lost Cats Report Cat Return Home
Exactness is not assured when initially matching a found notice to your lost pet because the notice contains only information as viewed by another person who may not know anything about your pet. Tan is brown, is cream, is rust, is red, is... well, you get the picture. One person's Beagle mix is another person's Hound mix, is a Rottweiler mix, etc. Any notice of pet even remotely like yours is a good place to start. If the location is wrong or the sex or age are wrong, call anyway. If the colors are vague or missing, call anyway. If the collar color or type is wrong, call anyway, because collars come and go. If the age is wrong, call anyway... 7 can be 7 weeks, months or years, or just a mistake from a bad guess. It's all in the eye of the beholder, so call.

BLACK WITH REDDISH FUR LONG HAIR - NAPERVILLE
A long haired cat, black fur with a reddish tinge,
has been around our corner of Franklin and Eagle in Naperville since early
May. He is big, probably about 12 pounds, with yellow eyes. He is
just beginning to be friendly with us. He is not friendly enough yet to

HIMALAYAN OR PERSIAN - ALGONQUIN
A Himalayan or Persian cat was found in a model home in Algonquin, near Randall
Road and Bunker Hill, across from Jacobs High School. Predominant colors
are brown and tan with a little black and white. Very affectionate.
Was found on December 6, 2001 and was seen on several doorsteps in the

I found a black and white male, older cat with gold eyes in mid-December in the
Northfield/Winnetka area. He has white paws and a white chest with a black

Naperville, I found a male, neutered 1 to 2 year old cat in September,
2001. He is beige with white paws, chest and underside. He has some
white spots on his face, with a orange and white stripped tail. He has no

I had a cat brought to me last Saturday (I work for a humane society that
houses cats in the Woodfield Petsmart). She said he'd been coming around

I found a cat on Monday 13 August, 2001.
She is female I think. It has distinct white, black and tan/orange markings
(tortoiseshell?). I found her in the parking lot at 'Office Depot' on Green Bay Road in Evanston. She is declawed.

GREY LONG HAIR - CRETE
I found a old (?) female domestic long hair on June 25, 2001. She was
found on Charles Court near the intersection of Steger Road and Route 394 in
Crete. Grey long hair with piercing green-yellow eyes. Cat is declawed.
Obviously craves attention and wants to be indoors. The cat came up to us begging for food as we were eating dinner in our garden.

CHICAGO
This male cat was found in Andersonville in Chicago. He is not neutered and has all his claws. He is
gray and black striped with a white belly and chest. He has one white paw
(left) and a striped right paw. His tail looks like a raccoon. He was found

Tortoiseshell, female cat found at Jefferson Square Mall (old Wilderness
Mall on Jefferson Street between Larkin and Essington) in Joliet on November
17,2000. Cat is most likely less than 2 yrs old and obviously has been
lost from GOOD home for several weeks/months due to thin/malnourished state.

HIMALAYAN PERSIAN AND GREY UNKNOWN TYPE - DES PLAINES
Two lost cats appeared at my door in Des Plaines around October 15, 2000.
Both are very friendly and seem to have been pets as they want to enter the
house very badly. The first is a Himalayan Persian and seems to have been
out several months. He is a very dirty male with his front declawed.
The other is a gray, front-declawed cat. Seems young or at least very
healthy and fast. Affectionate. We live in Des Plaines, Illinois.

Short haired, adult male cat found March 8, 2000 on Benedict in
Candlewick Lake of Poplar Grove IL. He's a light gray tabby with all his claws and is probably not fixed. When he was brought to me he was somewhat
