During August 1999, a group of local Burmese breeders and fanciers got together, and decided to start Natal's own Burmese Breed Group.

Membership is only R30, and being a member of the NBCS, you will receive our newsletter called the "Burmese Bustle", as well as invitations to regular talks and socials organised by the committee. We welcome all Burmese and cat lovers countrywide…

The Aims and Objectives of the NBCS are:

To promote the care, breeding and exhibiting of all Burmese cats;

To assist breeders of Burmese cats to maintain the standards of such cats;

To encourage the care, protection and maintenance of the healthy breed lines of Burmese cats and all cats generally;

To liaise with Burmese clubs and breeders throughout the world in order to promote the breed;

To carry out the affairs of the NBCS as a non-profit making organisation, and apply and extend the funds of the NBCS to further and promote the aims and objectives of the Group.
