North Carolina

North Carolina, that's where we live now. It's a nice place. The winter is shorter that it was back in Wisconsin. This winter has been really short but Mama says that's cuz of that Nina thingy. It's nice not being so cold for so long.
Let me tell you about the house we live in...ok, ok, Mama says it's an apartment, not a house but it seems like a house to me. It's got wood floors, which make life interesting. I'm glad Mama and Dad finally got over that urge they got when we first moved in. I'd be lying peacefully on the floor and one of them would sneak up and SPIN me. It was so undignifying.
Mama says I've become very good at undignifying myself lately. She says it's when I get hyper and start running thru the house. I don't understand what she's talking about. I just run from the bedroom, thru the kitchen to the living room and back again. At top speed (remember the wood floors - Ed.). Sure I slide a little when making the corner into the bedroom but it's FUN. Mama says I'm gonna run into the wall one of these days. I think she's crazy, I've always got it under control! oh, I almost forgot, sometimes instead of sliding thru that corner I'll pounce and grab the doorway and swing into the bedroom.
Another thing I like about this new place is some of the new furniture Mama and Dad got. We have a vinyl couch (hey, it was free - Ed.)and a matching cat bed (footstool). Yes, cat bed, Mama put a blanket over it and it's ALL MINE. But I like the couch, too. I sleep on the back of it sometimes. But it's so slippery, when I get really soundly asleep, I slide off. It's not so bad now that Mama moved it against the wall, but it used to be in the middle off the room. Let me tell you, waking up while falling really sucks, but landing is the worst. But where it is now, when I fall, I just slide into the seat part, which is undignifying but doesn't hurt.
When it's warm out, Mamma leaves the doors open. I like to sit in front of the screen doors and look out. Sometimes one of the outdoor cats come and I have to hiss at them. Mama tells me not to hiss but I don't understand. She says I have to be nice cuz I have a loving, warm home and they live outside with no one to take care of them. I guess she's right. Sometimes she gives them food and pets them (grrr). Dad's gonna build them a shelter to sleep in. Moma says when she and Dad finally own their own land, she's gonna take Morris and Lady (the outside cats) there to live, cuz it'll be safer. I guess that's ok, as long as they don't live inside with me.
Well that's all I can think of about this place. We've been living here for about 5 months. Maybe when summer comes again, I'll have more to tell you.
