BADGERS

  • Each badger family may have as many as fifteen members. There are usually two or three babies called cubs which are born in the spring.
  • Badgers can produce an unpleasant smell to deter their enemies, just like skunks
  • Badgers are stout, heavy animals, with short, thick legs and heavy coats. They have strong claws to help them dig.
  • Badgers live in an underground home called a sett.
  • Badgers have distinctive stripes on their faces. These stripes are useful camoflauge when they are stomping through the undergrowth. No two sets of stripes are the same, so they may also help the animals to recognize each other.
