There are three main types of parrot: lories, cockatoos and parrots.
A parrot's beak does a combination of jobs. The hooked tip pulls out the soft parts of fruit while the jaws near the base of the beak crack open seeds. Parrots use their feet to hold and turn their chosen snack whilst dining.
Male and female parrots usually look alike, but male and female electus parrots are completely different.
Not only do they attract attention with their dazzling colours, but they make grating, screeching calls.
