POLAR BEARS

Only the Polar bear inhabits Arctic regions.	The polar bear is the biggest, most powerful hunter in the Arctic.	Blubber helps to keep the cold out and acts as a food store when there is nothing much around to hunt.
Polar bears have an undercoat of thick fur protected by an outer coat of long, guard hairs. These stick together when the fur gets wet and make a waterproof barrier.	Polar bear cubs at play are a delightful sight. It's easy to forget that their games help them learn and practise the skills they need to become hunters, like their parents.	The Polar bear is surprisingly fast and can easily outrun a reindeer over a short distance.
