The quoll is one of 4 species of cat-sized
predatory dasyurid marsupial, specialised for life as carnivores.
Quolls live in rock piles or in hollow
logs and emerge only at night to search for food.
At one time quolls were ruthlessly
destroyed by poultry keepers, quolls are now known to do as much
good as they do harm, by killing rodents, rabbits and invertebrate
pests and helping to keep the ecological balance.
