Marten Veleur

Keeper of the black candle.

Marten Veleur is a marten shapeshifter.  She met Dessa and her twin Sienna while working for Brocken at the same spy training school.  After Marten lost Oren, her twin brother in a sparring accident Sienna was there to console her.  Later after Dessa lost Sienna on mission, Marten was there to reassure Dessa that she would be okay and to be strong for her family. 

Shortly afterword, Marten escaped from Brocken's clutches and went to work secretly for Circle Daybreak.  Dessa suspected she was there, but it would be too dangerous for both of them to try and find each other. 

Later, at a clan meeting they ran into each other and since have been inseparable and have proven to be an extremely efficient tandem.
