Construction Log - Week of July 16
It was a busy week. On Monday, we met with the contract sales representatives from AmericanTV. They will be installing our central vac system, our in-ceiling speakers, as well as our phone, cable, and home networking cables. We finalized our configurations for all these systems and they will begin their work during the rough-in phase shortly.

The framers have completed a lot of work on the house this week. By the end of last week, only the back outer wall was erected. Now, the entire exterior is framed, most of the interior walls have also been framed, and they have begun installing our roof. Once they have finished, they will finish framing the remaining walls which meet up with the vaulted ceiling in the great room and kitchen. We can really get a sense of what the rooms will be like and what the views out the windows will be.

Their has been activity on the lot 3 as well. (The lot to our left as you face our house.). Last weekend we got to look at the neighbors plans and signed off on an agreement to let the buyers of lot 3 to have a pool. The same restictive covenents that prohibited more than 'two animals' also prohibit above ground pools. Fortunately for us and our new neighbors, letters of understanding allowed both of our projects to get underway. Our neighbors will have a two story house plus some exposure on the side facing us. They are setting their place back further than ours, but I think the only place we may be able to see their home from ours is the master bath and maybe one view out of the sunroom. They completed a survey and started taking down trees for their drive and homesite mid-week.

The weather has been real hot and humid this week, so we did not do anymore clearing or make anymore firewood this week. The weather is supposed to break early new week, though, so we may be able to get back out and do some more work provided the inevitable rain that comes through with a front isn't too heavy.
Here are some pics of the exterior as its being framed:
