Construction Log - Week of July 23 | |||||||||||||||
It was a busy another busy week at the job site. On Monday, we met with our construction manager, Bill, for the first time. We went over the plans and some of the unsettled details of our home, like who would supply the whole house generator and if an installer could be found for the tankless hotwater heater. Hopefully, we will have those and other details nailed down this coming week as we are ready for the rough-in phse of the project. We had good weather this past week after some heavy rain over the weekend and the framers are now all but finished with their work. They completed the interior framing and the roof and have just one window and the construction doors to install. They should complete that work Monday morning of next week. The windows, as you will see from the pics below have a special 'prairie style' grid that is fairly unique. They will really add to the look of the house. Because of the rain over the weekend, the lot was too wet to do anymore clearing. Hopefully, if it stays dry, by mid-next week we can get back out and do some work. Some of the brush we had cleared is sprouting again with the fresh rain. This coming week, we meet with the electrical contractor and they should begin doing the rough electrical work. Once the framers have cleared off, we should be getting the roof shingled as well. |
