My "One Good Man"

Yes, there was ONE left!

Randy & Carol

1978 - Forever

This page is dedicated to my husband, Randy, the kindest man
I have ever I have ever known. Maybe once, in almost 30 years
together, have I heard an unkind word out of him towards me.
And I yell at him all the time! He knows I don't mean the things
I mean the things I say, and takes it in stride. We never fight
and the few arguments we have had lasted, with me staying mad for,
maybe, an hour.
I can't stay mad at him, because he also makes me
laugh...and how can you stay mad when you're laughing?

He cooks for me, waits on me and thinks every dumb little thing I make
or do is just great! He never judges me and praises my accomplishments,
great or small.

I thank God for him! He is the only man who has ever been able to put
up with me.

AND he lets me have all the animals I want! He even helps me rescue
ones we wind up with because they were in some bad situation and needed
help. We have dogs and cats that been dumped on us, ones that have been
abused, abandoned, neglected and been in just about any dire circumstance
you might imagine.

And when bad things happen and I grieve, or if I get hurt, there is not
a bigger shoulder than his to cry on.

This is just 4 of our 12 dogs. Randy was on
the couch, so the others were probably in
the bedroom with me. They ALL sleep with us!
Can you see how cute Martin is sleeping on his
back next to his Daddy? He is such a little
snuggle-bunny!

Randy raised this little squirrel from just days old.
I was feeding him and after a few weeks his eyes still weren't
opened and he was weak and tiny. So, Randy took over and the
squirrel thought he was his mother! He bottle fed him for a
more weeks and then weaned him to nuts and berries and his
favorite- cherries! They loved each other.
He named him Bobby Joey. He lived in the house, in a huge
cage in our den or out with us for almost two years.
Randy had just built me a 15x7' bird aviary, a few
months before we got Joey, and when my two wild birds finally
died, he just immediately took it over.  He would take him
out during the day and Joey would run all over the yard and then
go to his "Daddy" to take him to bed.  Randy built
him a 3 story house inside his cage and he loved it.
We had him for almost 7 years.  That was one of very few
times I saw Randy cry.  He felt so bad that he wasn't with
him when he died.  I had told him I didn't see him all day
and he went out to look and found him on the floor of his cage.
If you want to see our Joey click on him below.  That's
him on the third story lanai of his "mansion".

There really isn't too much that he and I haven't tried.  All his idea, of course.  I am not a dare-devil by nature like he is.  I'd just as soon take a nap with my animals.
