Central Illinois
Sheltie Rescue is a non profit, volunteer organization that helps homeless or abandoned
Shelties. Each sheltie is treated for any medical problems and then spayed or
neutered, brought current on all shots, wormed, treated for fleas and ticks, heartworm
tested and started on preventative medication, started on flea prevention medicine, and
groomed. All shelties are then screened and adopted into safe, loving homes.
We do not have a shelter
facility. All dogs are housed and cared for in our network of foster
homes. We are always looking for more foster homes. Interested in
becoming a foster home? Please let us know.

Looking for a puppy? NEVER NEVER NEVER
buy any animal from a pet store. Only Puppy Mills will sell puppies to pet stores.
Despite what the Pet Store will tell you, NO reputable breeder would ever dream of
selling their puppies to a pet store.
Many pet store operators - are getting wise to
the public's rejection of puppy mills. They have an easy solution: to simply tell
customers they don't buy from puppy mills. Because "puppy mill" is not a legal
definition, the stores aren't technically lying. They simply tell potential customers they
are buying from "private kennels," "local breeders" or
"independent breeders." At Just Puppies, breeder records were traced to 8
different midwest puppy mills, although the store employees continue to deny doing
business with mills.
Need help finding a reputable breeder? Just
ask. IF you have already bought a dog from a pet store and need assistance with
medical bills, please contact us. We always try and help. Read this article
