"Jingles" was surrendered to AWL at 8 years old by owners claiming not to be able to fully housetrain him. Fortunately for "Jingles," Shorewood Cocker Spaniel Rescue was there to take him in and place him in a home that understands him. His new owners, the Topczewski family, write, "Just wanted to let you know that we love Jingles! He is very sweet and well behaved. He is playing nicely with Buck. It's just what Buck needs. Our 16 year old son made a little bed for Jingles in his room, so that's where he
sleeps at night. "Jingles" is now living happily ever after with "Buck," his 14 year old springer spaniel brother.
Here is "Buster," yet another animal placed into a forever home by Shorewood Cocker Spaniel Rescue. His old owners relinquished him to the shelter complaining that he suffered too many ear infections. Keeping the ears clean is a central responsibility for cocker spaniel owners, and clearly, his previous owners did not understand the responsibilities of caring for this breed. He was also very overweight, and as you can see in his "after" picture above, he is much trimmer and happier these days. He is now in his forever home, and his new owners write, "Well it's day 3 and things are going pretty good. The cats are starting to come out already and investigate. That is a very good sign. Last nite Buster slept with us on the bed and Sadie was just fine with that. She has accepted him pretty well.
Our house has alot of activity during the day with business customers and Buster is adjusting to all the people OK. He barked quite a bit on Monday but today he was much quieter already. He wasn't too keen on going for walks but today we did 2 laps around our property and he didn't pull once to
go in the house. Very good sign. All in all he is doing just fine. We love him already. He is too cute. He even howled for us a few times. Too funny. Thanks so much for saving this little guy just for us. He is great!!
