"Pine" is an affectionate 8 year old male who was dumped at the shelter when his previous owners got a new kitten. They no longer wanted "Pine" anymore because they felt he was jealous of their new kitten. When I first saw "Pine," it appeared as if he had never been groomed in his entire 8 years of life. His fur was severely matted; in fact, one large matt covered his entire back and pulled painfully at his skin. He was slated to be euthanized for his poor condition and advanced age. He was way too sweet to be euthanized, so I took him home. Renee Salah, an independent cat rescuer, had him groomed professionally, which entailed having most of his body shaved down. He received a lion cut. Next, Renee found him a home. His new mommy, Maya, has had much experience with long-haired breeds and grooms him regularly to ensure that he will never have another bad hair day again!
