Meet Ashley
When she was 10 years old and her "brother", a boxer, was 8, Ashley's owner decided that he no longer wanted either dog and dropped them both off at the shelter. At her age and condition, her prospects for adoption at AWL were grim, and euthanasia was inevitable. The boxer's future appeared similarly bleak.
Here is Ashley today. She was just too sweet to be passed up, and the knowledgeable eye of miniature schnauzer rescuer Carol Grandstaff saw the wonderful dog hidden beneath all the matted hair and neglect. Ashley still has several good years left, and thanks to Carol, she will now be able to enjoy them to the fullest with her new family. Many thanks also to Jeannett Everett of Boxer Rebound who is now caring for Ashley's "brother" and committed to him for the rest of his life.
