FBS-Floppy Belly Syndrome   n.

A condition causing a loose, floppy wad of skin on the underside of an an

otherwise solid body.

Scrabbling Paws   v.

An act of pure feline silliness that involves running the front paws over a surface

very rapidly. Can also be used as a "payback" due to the static caused by friction:

Human medicates cat - cat produces static in fur to shock human.

Cat-erwauling   v.

The act of one or more cats singing to attract a mate. Note: This action often

attracts foul language and hurled objects from unsympathetic human types.

Hissy-Spit   v.

A short-lived, half-hearted display or or attempt of dominance between 2

or more cats wherein all parties walk away unhurt and completely satisfied.

Knock-Down-Drag-Out   V!

Go get the water bottle! There's a full- fledged brawl underway!

Treat   n.

1. Any delectable tidbit of food offered by a loving human. 2. Any delectable

morsel that can be snatched, pilfered or otherwise taken without human know

-ledge or consent.

Terrorist   n.

A cat who consistently insists on trying to play roughly with a cat(s) who

doesn't want to play at all, thereby generating a hissy-spit (see above).

Terrorism   adv.

The act of harrassing another cat in an an attempt at play who neither wants

nor appreciates the attention.

Bed   n.

Any piece of furniture regarded by humans as "off-limits."

Flip Top Head   adj.

Top of head seems to have ability to fall over backward during BIG yawn.

Syn. BIG Mouth

Kneading Paws  v.

1. Milk treading. 2. An attempt to punch down an area for more comfort.

3. A lavish display of love for the human counterpart. Syn. Doing the "dance.

Aquarium   n.

"Fast" food establishment

Back Leg Shuffle   v.

Act of raising posterior into the air while dancing with rear legs. Signals

need for spaying or neutering. Act of a cat "in the mood."

On One   adj.

1. A silly, playful, rip & tear mood. 2. An obnoxious, cantankerous,

get-out-of-my-face mood.

                                        The good side of "On One"

Insta-purr   adj.

Spontaneous purring. Needs no other stimulation than pure happiness. Syn.

Auto-rumble.

Rumblebucket   n.

An extremely contented cat who purrs frequently or for extended periods of time.

Window   n.

Home theater.

When the cat's away, the mice....PARTY! :-)

Cat Owner's Prayer

Because I'm only human,

It's sometimes hard to be...

The wise, all-knowing creature

That my cat expects of me.

Oh, let me not forget that sofas

Were put on earth to shred.

And what I like to call a lap,

A Few Cat Facts

Oldest domestic cat: 36 years old (& I thought 30 was the oldest!)

Largest cat: 46 lbs., 15 oz. (and I thought #1 son's cat, at 20+ lbs. was big!!)

Smallest cat: 2'" tall, 7" long.

Most offspring in a lifetime:420 (doesn't say...but could this be some poor

mother cat or some overactive male???)

Largest litter: 19 (ohhhhh the poor mommy!!)
