UPDATE 4/29/00 ~ Freckles tested positive for heartworms and will begin treatment on May 5, 2000. Many thanks to Freckles's Special Buddy Sherri Ray who has paid for her heartworn treatment.

Freckles turned out to be quite a beauty! She probably spent the first year of her life chained in a yard. Her owner moved away and left Freckles chained behind a trailer with no food, water, or shelter.

Here is Freckles one week after rescue being cuddled by a shelter volunteer. Freckles loved cuddles more than anything.

This is what Freckles looked like on rescue day in Sept. 1999. I wonder what she thought as day after day passed and no one came to feed her, or give her fresh water. We can only imagine the desperation and loneliness she felt.

Freckles is now in a wonderful home, thanks to Columbus Dog Connection.

The owner was fined 45 dollars.
