MICKEY

I would like to thank everyone at the Lawrence County Humane Society who helped me find the perfect dog to adopt. In October I lost my border collie Daisy to cancer. After Daisy died my other dog, Missy, was grieving and lonely. I knew she had to have a companion, and soon.

Since I work full time and have a house full of cats, I knew choosing the perfect dog would not be easy.

Volunteers at the humane society spent three days testing their dogs with cats and decided that Mickey would be the perfect match for me. Mickey is good with the cats and he is obedient and a quick learner, so even though I work full time, Mickey is going to work out just fine.

Missy is happy with her new companion. I know she still misses Daisy, but she has perked up so much since Mickey came to live with us.

And Mickey is in heaven getting so much attention, and sleeping on a nice soft bed. He loves the doggie door and takes great delight in his new large fenced in back yard.

If you have special circumstances and need a particular kind of pet that will fit into your lifestyle, I highly recommend allowing Peggy and Johnna to help you find the perfect pet for you.

UPDATE ~ January 2001
Now that Mickey, renamed Spook Doggy Dog, is settled in and feeling secure, he is beginning to show his true colors. He is not as easy to train as I originally thought, but his sweet nature and clownish ways make up for his lack of obedience. He was very easy to housetrain, so I am grateful for small favors. The rest will work itself out in time. He certainly is worth the effort. Here are pictures of Spook in his new home.

Thank you LCHS
