Dog Showing in Trinidad and Tobago

My Dalmatians

ANNOUNCING our newest arrival!!!

Pinkmead Pied Victor - has joined the gang. He is a beautiful male Dalmatian, white with black spots. Victor, as he is known, arrived on Trinidad on the 8th September 1999 from London. He will be too young for the show in October but I hope to have him ready for the next show. I would like to thank Valerie Sparkes for sending him to me and also Mary Greening for all her help and advice.

Victor was born on the 20th May 1999.

Pinkmead Pied Victor was awarded his first Challenge Certificate (CC) on the 6th August 2000, by Mr. John James (UK).

On the 14th December 2000, Victor officially became a champion. He is now called CH PINKMEAD PIED VICTOR.

Many of the rare breeds you see were imported into the country. If the dogs shown were not imported their parents were. Most of our German Shepherds, Dobermans, Rottweilers and Whippets were bred here. The other breeds listed are very few in number and are being shown in the hopes that they will become champions. We use the English System when judging at our shows. We do not operate on the points system as in the US. Once a dog has received 3 CCs (Challenge Certificates) from 3 different judges that dog is then considered a champion. Some of the dog fanciers are importing their dogs, mostly from Great Britain. Importing from Great Britain may be a bit more costly that importing from the US or Canada but then there is no quarantine.

Any dog coming from the US or Canada must spend six (6) months in quarantine. There is usually a very long waiting list for kennel space at the quarantine station, so make sure and apply for your import permit months in advance.

to get a list of the quarantine free countries. Also, check with the relevant authorities to find out what documentation you must provide when importing your dog.

Do you want to find out more about the types of dogs we have here? Do you want to come and experience one of our all breed championship shows? Send me an e-mail and I will inform you of any upcoming shows.
