Yes, believe it or not there was a time in which showing horses was my life.  I have temporarily moved on to academics and big city life, wishing all those who have the dream of owning a horse good luck.  The horse industry is great for building character, but don't let the glam, blue ribbons, and big names get in the way of true horsemanship.  The day you find that its too much abuse-- for your finances and  your horse-- step back and reevaluate what it is you are doing.  All living creatures deserve a good life.  And if you are the one ruining a good life for you or your horse, you need to step back and ask yourself if the little blue ribbon you are going after is worth it.  I did just that.... and  realized that horse showing is an industry that is out of control. Remember--One world, one plan, one life to make it all work.
