Back Home Tomorrow
Kyle and I have had a nice time with my Mom in California. It's probably my last trip out here since she and her husband will begin their new life soon in Alpharetta, GA.
School will begin soon, so we need to get home and get ready. I don't know if the children are looking forward to going back to school, but I'm sure looking forward to them going back to school. Remember that ad from Staples... "It's the most wonderful time of the year....." ??? Yes, it IS!!!
The next few months will be hectic and full. Odin is going to start gearing up for his Okinawa tour. We have lots to do before he leaves: get passports; find out about Space A Travel and organize a schedule of visits. Definitely not looking forward to a two year separation, but it's a lot better than some of the alternatives. A long time ago on RMW we took a poll: Unaccompanied tour to Okinawa vs. a regular deployment to Iraq/Afganistan. I voted Okinawa. Now it's time to put my money where my mouth is. Of course staying home wasn't an option.
I'm looking forward to seeing Erik play football. He's been working really hard in practice. In the beginning I really didn't want him to play, but he wants to and is giving it his all. I will be there, at every game, cheering him on.
Guess that's all the news for now. Off to pack and get things ready to fly tomorrow. I think I shall have a couple of cocktails on the plane. LOL.
