Colder than heck today. It was about 29 when Erik went to the bus stop at 7:20. By the time Kyle left it was slightly warmer. When I left the house at 10am the thermometer on my truck said 36. Brrrr.... No snow but a nice thick coating of ice. That will take some getting used to. No more hopping in the truck and going. Gotta warm her up and defrost the winders.
Erik's performance last night was wonderful. The Chorus performed too and it made for a lovely evening of Holiday music. I took some photos. Not of Erik, he gets so mad if he sees me trying to take his photo while he's playing. I took lots of the architecture of the theater. Of course camera hog Kyle was demanding to have his photo taken too. He definitely provides the comic relief in this family.
Erik had some very cool news when he came home today. He has been selected to "double up" and play the Baritone Sax in addition to the Tenor when they go to Festival in the Spring. Very exciting! He will be using a school Baritone, so that will be great. In January he will audition for the District Band. He's now the section leader and first chair Tenor Sax. We are so very proud of him. His Band Director is a wonderful lady who brings out his best.
Today was my volunteer day at Kyle's school. While I was there, I spoke with his reading/writing teacher. She couldn't say enough about how much better Kyle is doing. She is not my favorite person, but Kyle likes her and that is the most important thing. I am glad that our hard work is beginning to pay off. He sees it too and that is helping to motivate him. I am so happy and relieved that things are finally looking up for him. He had a lot of catching up to do.
Okay, Proud Mommy brag is officially over. Boys are in bed and I'm heading up soon. Two more days til Odin comes home.
