Welcome to the Home Page of the Beta Kappa Chapter of Tau Beta Sigma at the University of Southern Mississippi. Here's just a little info on our chapter:

We were founded here at Southern Miss on May 17, 1957. We are a co-ed chapter, consisting of members representing most sections of "The Pride". This year we have piccolos, clarinets, saxophones, horns, trombones, guard members, tubas, and even a drum major making up our list of actives. TBS has also gained more leadership and responsibility in the Pride, with most of our actives participating as members of the Band Council as Section Leaders, Drill Instructors, Rehearsal Assistants and Coordinators.

Our chapter is very involved in the activities presented by the marching band and throughout the school of music. We play a large role in the smooth running of All South Marching Band (also known as Band Day) and MMBC (Mississippi Marching Band Championship).

The actives work as bus captains on the away trips, as well as selling cokes and handling meal money for the rest of the band members. In the spring, we are in charge of All South Honor Band, a clinic of High School students from all over the south-east. This year our chapter has inducted a large new membership candidate class. We believe that these new members will add a vital new facet to our membership. The Beta Kappa Chapter is proud of our past and looking forward to the future.
