I know this is not a cichlid, but I realy enjoy this fish, I bought him when he was 3"-4" inches and know he is 12" inches. He likes to eat out of my hand when I feed him night crawlers and he eats about 6 a day when I feed him the worms. He likes to swim around the tank and doesn't bother any of the cichlids or the cichlids don't even bother him. He has his own cave which he hides in when he's not out, but he sticks his head out all the time looking around, when he see's me he comes out to get fed, most eels are night creatures but when I turn on my light on the tank he comes out for awhile then goes back in his cave until I feed him. It's great to whatch him swim around the tank, he looks like a snake. I feed my eel night crawlers and cichlid shrimp mix which he likes. Here's some facts about the Tire track eel.
