Nimbochromis Linni
        Dr. Burgess found this cichlid in 1975 and named it Haplochromis Linni after Dr. Linn. Like all othere Nimbochromis's there preditory cichlids, they play dead by laying on the bottom awaiting for an unsuspecting fish to come by to eat.They have the same camouflage pattern as the Nimbochromis Polystigma, they only difference is the curvature of the head and the protusile lips. They are a large cichlid and need space to swim.
    Trade Names;Haplochromis Linni.
   Size: males 10 inches and females 8 inches long.
   Sex: males have egg dummie spots on anal fin.
    Breeding coloration are seen in most periods of the time.
Nimbochromis Livingstoni
   Dr. Guenther found this cichlid in 1893 and named it after Dr. Livingstone, who was the first Englishman to collect from Lake Malawi and there found throughout the lake.There seen in the intermediate and vegetated habitats of bays. This large cichlid which looks like a camouflage suit that was painted on its body. AD Konings book on Malawi cichlids (TFH number TS-157) shows nice photos of many Nimbochromis. This cichlid plays dead on the bottom to catch fish that swim by. They  need allot of room to swimm . This is a very common aquarium cichlid.

       Trade Names:Haplochromis Livingstoni, Kaligono
        Size: male/female can get to 10 inches long.
   
Breeding is done on the sand near rocks. The eggs are fertilized when there on the sand out side of the females mouth, the male move's over them and then the female picks them up.The fry are taken care of for about one month.
