Schujan Gordon Setters
Schujans got it's modest start in 1991, when we purchased a puppy (Emma Rose) from MacAlder Kennel. We took the name from one of my parents throughbred race horses. We now have 13 Gordon's, 7dogs and 6 bitches, 11 of which are US Champions, 2 are US-Canadian Champions and 2 are young but on their way.
Janet wasn't new to the breed, she had 3 Gordon's prior to the conception of our kennel. Janet was exposed to the Black and Tans at an early age, her Grandpa raised Gordon's in western Nebraska in the 40's and 50's. As for myself, before I met Janet in 1984, I had never heard of a Gordon Setter. Now they are such a big part of our lives (not to mention decor) and members of our family.
Although our primary focus is in the show ring, we hope to get involved in the other aspects of the breed, ( if I get smart enough to train them and have the time), hunting, obedience...................
We were lucky and started out with a great foundation bitch, Ch MacAlder Emma Rose, although she has already crossed over the bridge, she passed down some very good qualities to her kids and grandkids. Our goal is to take what she gave us and try to make it better.
I hope that you enjoy the pictures of our Malcolm Mutts,(we live near Malcolm
Neb), and if you have any questions about available puppies, future litters
or stud service feel free to contact us.
