The
Motley Boa

The Motley Boa is an exciting new morph currently being developed by breeder Jeremy Stone.     This stunning animal is yet another perfect example of the variability of the Boa constrictor.   Keep reading for some background information from Jeremy Stone...

"About the Motley boas...The first was an import in 1994, from Baranquilla, Colombia.  He looked just like a Motley corn snake and so a Florida breeder bought it.  In 1996, the breeder bred it to a normal female Colombian boa.  Anyway, the normal female gave birth to 12 boas and a bunch of slugs.  Of the 12 boas, 6 were Motley and six were normal.  Of the 6 that were Motley (just like the father), three were dead in the birth sac and 3 lived.  Unfortunately, 1.1 of the 3 Motley babies died unexpectedly  a short time later.  That left one baby and the father -- the only two Motley boas in the world, and both males...The gather bred for the original owner a few times in '97 and '98, but nothing took.  The owner didn't really try again because he is not into boas, but is a major lizard breeder.  I bought the project in '99 and both males hav ebeen breeding machines for me now.  The Motley is a proven new co-dominant boa morph, and reallly does have a ton of potential with regards to existing boa morphs."
