Seattle Mariners--You Gotta Love
These Guys!
After winning the American League West for the second time in three
years, the Seattle Mariners have caught the attention of baseball fans
all across the nation. Sporting a list of heavy hitters, such as Jay
Buhner, Edgar Martinez, Dan Wilson, and Ken Griffey, Jr. (probably the
country's most loved and recognized current MLB player), the Mariners are
known as the highest scoring team in the American League. The team was
started in 1977, though its most memorable moments are found within the
last few years. To catch up on your Mariners trivia, visit these links:
Duke
Blue Devils--"Rip 'em up, tear 'em up, give 'em h---
Duke!"
Led by Wojo and the famous Coach K, the Duke men's basketball team is
off to a great start this year, following a somewhat improved football
season after last year's record-setting no-win season. NCAA Champions in
1990 and 1991, the basketball team is once more headed for the Final
Four. For pictures and more info., check out these links:
The Seattle SuperSonics
The recent trade involving Shawn Kemp made some fans angry and others
ecstatic. Kemp, once the star of the Sonics, aroused a great deal of
anger and disgust in Seattle when he announced last year that he would no
longer play for Seattle--that he demanded to be traded or he would spend
the season on the bench. It seems that the Sonics' final decision was a
good one--trade Kemp for Vin Baker. Baker is now leading the team in a
great season. For more information, click below:
