Pasha, aka "The Posh" was our first ferret and is my greatest little buddy. Pasha plays hard and to see him war dance is a very ferrety experience and one that nearly always has me giggling with delight. HE IS NOT A SMOOTH MOVER. First..... he jumps backwards and then sideways with a little fancy foot ferret whirl. Then he always spazs out, falls over, writhing and jerking and biting the air. The first week I had him I thought for sure he was infected with some kind of mind dis-ease. Pasha "speed bumps" and frequently crawls onto my lap for body scritches. First his chest and tummy and lots of yawns. Then he rolls over and if I don't get his back and shoulders I get the look! Pasha loves Yogurt and Honey Drops. Other then ferretone it is the only treat he will eat. His greatest thrill though is to have one of his slaves chasing him. It is the only time he dooks and I swear I see him grinning as he takes off like a shot. He loves to run down the stairs and around the corner to the off limits area. "Dook Dook Dook" he says, as he looks over his shoulder to make sure the slaves are fully engaged. We love our Pasha Boy. More Pictures of "The Pash"
Can't you just imagine this little girl's personality by just looking at this face! This is our adorable Yoshi, aka "The Yoshers" She is 4 months old in this pic and she really IS a ham! Yoshi is our water digger but most of all She is "Queen of the Hidey Hole" and the "Thief from Hell". She trys to run backwards into her hidey hole with anything she can get in her little mouth or straddle and scoot. Too funny!!!! Anything is fair game, including me. Keys, shoes, cameras, cigarettes, combs, bowls, the water dish and sometimes Pash! She always takes her first treat to the Hidey Hole. ALWAYS! She immediately reports back, sits on my shoe and begs one to eat. She always gets it too! When we first got Yoshi she bite us hard and often brought blood. We were heartbroken. I read on the FML about blowing in her face and saying , "NO YOSHI!" We consistently used this technique, kept handling her and giving her lots of love and kisses. And it worked. She is now the kissiest ferret we have. She is our little love.
This is Chewbacca, aka "Chewie". Chewie rules. :>) Around the first of December I was in a pet store. There were two babies and this big guy in a cage. He was the biggest ferret I had ever seen so I figured he was older and someone turned him in. I asked the girl how old he was and she said he is the same age as as the rest of them, 16 weeks!! Oh, I wanted this guy! But we had two... so no way! (RIGHT) I was in LOVE. I would go into the pet store twice a week just to carry Chewie around and give him kisses. I dreaded the day I would go in and he would be gone. I was also troubled by the young man who was going to save money to buy him and keep him in the barn cause his parents didn't like animals! I then took my husband in and we would carry him around. Steve gently said, "No" We already have 15 animals"! I understood! Okay, I can't have Chewie. (Sigh) On the 16th of December I sent Steve to the pet store for supplies. He brought a box home, sit in on the table and said "here are your supplies". I opened the box and immediately started crying all over Steve. There was the big guy!!! YIPPEE! An early HoHo present. Geezums, I was excited! There was no question he would be named Chewbacca. "Chewie" is gorgeous. He weighs a bit over 3.lbs and is barely 5 months old. His fur is real thick, he has a long tail and although we are not able to hold him he has loads of personality. (He is our skirmiest ferret, much changed from the ferret that let us carry him all over the pet store.) He does loved to be petted when he is resting and he is ticklish. Chewbacca is the Fred Astaire of Ferrets. His war dance is something to see. It is smooth and almost rythmic. He dances at every opportunity and will do almost anything except sit still for a treat. He is our "Robo Boy" and we love him. He is the best Christmas Present I have ever had. More pics of Chewbacca.
