I am NOT laid back, but rather serious and introspective, can't stand alot of silliness, am kind and loving but have a tendency towards moodiness due to pain..(I have Fibromyalgia and Arthritis.) I love to read, I love the Internet, Antiques, and my Fur Children. I also love chocolate cake, good books, gourmet coffee and Winter. I HATE to sleep. Sleep is the biggest waste of time there is as far as I am concern. It angers me to get so sleepy I can't work. I will often get up and move around to refresh myself and avoid sleep. I am Steve's "Snuccums" and his "FurAngel". (No, I don't have fur.)To be perfectly honest...... I am also his biggest pain in the toshi!
Steve and I moved to Bangor, Maine three years ago after being here on vacation from California. (We live down the street and around the corner from THE Steven King) In fact, we bought our house while on vacation. Steve put in for a transfer and I took an early retirement. I am a former Peace Officer and Administrator. We have never regretted it. We love Maine. We have made good friends and settled in. Steve retires in 4 years and in the summer and fall we often spend our time on the back roads of New England looking for our "Retirement Home"
Steve and I share a lot "in common" in spite of our personality differences. We are united in our view that one the most important things in life is to have a positive impact on others. We try to do that by being loving, giving and as non-judgemental as possible. We both feel that basically people live their lives the best that they can with what they got which includes choice, brains, morals, heart and resources. How they put that all together and what their choices may be is their given.
Another view we share is to recognize the rights of little critters and the responsibility that goes hand in hand with care-taking them. We give donations to various animal groups and do what we can for our local resources. I foster and adopt as many animals as I can and find homes for the ones we can't keep. My basement has been turned into an animal hospital and shelter more times then I can remember.
Many of our friends see us as an "ideal" couple and envy our relationship. Steve and I have both been married before and we value our non-confrontational laid-back relationship. We also feel that there really isn't a lot that we should hassle each other about and respect one another's space to a large degree. IF WE HAVE A "SECRET" I believe our "secret" is that Steve is very patience and has unending tolerance for my craziness. :>) Period. SO Simple! BUT that has engendered in me a deep love and adoration for my Stevie the Stud Muffin! (When and if he notices this, he will want to kill me!)Smile. Stay tuned for the forthcoming report!
