Jim
In memory of Jim
3/10/32 - 5/18/03
Jim retired in 1996 after serving with the US Navy as a photographer
for 21 years and working as a Civil Service photographer for the US Army for another 20 years.
Now he can give our canine family his full attention and to do their bidding exclusively.
"But we do not include posing for his picture taking" say Cleo.
"He carries that dog biscuits in his pocket all the time, so we try to snitch them when he isn't looking" say Salty Dog.
Helen
Mom thought she was retired too, but she really has more work now, taking care of us and those little furbabies called Yorkies.
"She won't let us play with them either… says we play TOO ROUGH for them poor little things." says Libbi.
Both Helen and Jim were born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, but have lived in the Southeastern part
of the States for most of their lives, finally retiring in Southeastern North Carolina
on rural acreage, where they live with their 5 Basset Hounds and 2 Yorkies.
Now active in rescue work, they are members of the Carolina Basset Hounds Rescue, currently "fostering" Muffins.
Helen is following her interest in the family's genealogy , researching her "roots".
"We like to dig up tree & flower roots too…but she scolds us when we do that. How come it's OK for her…but NOT for us?" asks Fanci.
I was purchased from a SC puppy mill.
My new owners were shown my "supposedly" parents and they were given
a "Full AKC Registration" certificate, which enables me to breed.
Do I look like a typical
Basest Hound????
I think NOT!!!!!!!
Our Wonderful Mom & Dad
Jim & Helen enjoy reading in their "spare time"
One of Helen's favorite authors is Fern Michaels, who is also a great friend of the CBHR. Fern, herself. is owned by several Yorkies.
Jim likes action/military type books and really enjoys historical novels.
Basically, our lives revolve around our Basset Hounds and Yorkies, although we do have our own four grown children, all living within a short distance from us. We also have
9 grand children and 3 great grandchildren
