The Yorkies - Tiffani & Jodi & Mandi!
Tiffani
Know me as the 'Alpha' furbaby of this family!
"I am a 4 year old Yorkie and I stick to Mom like Velcro.
We even sleep in the same bed.
I give everyone lots of 'KISSIES' and share my toys with Jodi.
Mommy buys me special flovered biscuits from my friend, Cosette, and the Ginger flavored ones ar my favorite."
Jodi
"I am now 9 years old and I love to be cuddled
in my Mommy's arms. I AM Mommy's "shadow" and tend to have anxiety attacks
when I am left alone, or I hear loud noises."
* See my story below*
Best Friends
Tiffani and Jodi are inseparable.
They 'kiss' each other, cuddle together and 'protect' each other from all harm,
whether real or imaginary
Mandi
"Hi...I'm Mandi.
I came to live at The Anchorage in June 1999. I was only 2.6 pounds when they got me..and now I am 6.8 pounds at 1 year old.
I am full of vim, vigor & vitality... as Mom says... I am a sweet lovable "terror". I squirm out of Mom's arms at times
I love to grab Tiff's tail and Tiff HATES it. So when Tiff runs I grab her tail and I go airborne.
I don't know if Tiff & Jodi think much of ME, but maybe if I learn to behave... they will Love me eventually".
Jodi's Story
Jodi was brought into a Veterinarian's office, near death, by her puppy mill owners. If you are interested in fostering/adopting a Rescue Yorkie, contact: Please do not copy items from this site without permission from Helen or Jim Hendricks. Thanks.
At that point, they wanted her euthanized so not to encur any expenses. Luckily, one of the Vet's technicians had the owners transfer ownership to herself, in order to save this little Yorkie in need of surgery.
After almost an hour of scrubbing and cutting/shaving, Jodi was clean enough to operate on.
During surgery, the following was found...a burst uterus, so infected, that the poisons were all through her little body, damaging her kidneys. One kidney had to be removed. Her vital organs were SO fused together by numerous C-sections...
(by the continual pregnancies, so that the puppy mill owners could enjoy the profits... yet they would NOT spend any of those profits to treat her)
...
...that it took additional time to separate these fusions, bladder stones, and teeth so infected that many of them had to be removed.
It is a small wonder that Jodi survived all this, with the careful, loving care of this technician in her home, Jodi was finally able to be adopted and came to OUR house in July 1998
This is an all too common story of Puppy Mill animals. She had lived her prior seven years of her life, in a small wire cage, in filth & feces, kept only to reproduce over and over again. When these animals get sick, they are quickly and unfeelingly thrown away, their purpose, supposedly, at an END.
YOU can HELP these poor unfortunate animals by opening YOU home to them. These 'rescues' can and DO rehabilitate and make wonderful loving pets<.
