also called Tiggi, Tiggebär or also Waldemar Piep (i.e. Waldo Cheep - because of his *enormous* voice)
Born early in September 1992
Tiger was found together with his siblings, when they came out of a garden
shack in which they probably have been born, screaming for hunger. The
mother probably got killed by a car.
A friend/coworker and I shared the care. They
first spent a few days with me, then they went to my friend. Already in
my house one little girl died. That was the very first time, an animal
died right in my hands.
At my friend's went three more; only the two
biggest and strongest tomcats survived. Then those two came back to me.
Molli, Tiger's brother, used to take Tiger's genitals als a teatsubstitut,
which meant that everything got swollen and Tiger couldn't pee anymore.
At the vet's, little Tiger came under anaesthesia for the first time when
he was about six weeks old - to get squeezed out like a lemon.
After everything was alright again (the two cats
got seperated immediately) and he was completely recovered, I wanted to
take him to the other kittens in the shelter. I went there in the afternoon
and was alone in the building. Right when I wanted to leave again, the
telephone rang. A very nice lady from another SPCA kept me on the line
for almost two hours. When we finally ended our call, I just wanted to
take a last look of tiger, just to see if everything was alright with him.
One could see immediately that he had problems
- he couldn't pee again. So away to the vet we went.
After that I took Tiger home again, so I could
keep an eye on him and he could recover completely. And then it was too
late - my son David fell in love with him. And Tiger fell in love with
David. Those two just belonged together.
Since then not much has changed. The two of them
are still "as thick as thives".
Tiger still has problems with his bladder, although
they have become "adult problems": bladderstones. He even had a complete
blockage, two and a half years ago. Somehow it seems, like he received
the disposition for those problems right at his birth. Where other cats
have a ph of 6,2 , Tiger's is at 9,2. With the same food.
This photo is turned upside down , but I think it's
even cuter this way..... :-)
