This is Hunter or "Lancelot" (as we called him). He lives in South Georgia and loves to prune trees for limbs to carry about. He is an avid swimmer in their pool and loves to wake people up in the morning with a leap onto the bed followed by a warm Lab kiss. He is a sweetie and loved very much by his family.
In 1996, two of our lab puppies journeyed to Texas to their new home. Hershey aka "Sierra" and JD aka "Paddington" made the trip back with my mother (who lives in Texas). They stayed with Hershey's owners for a few days until JD could go to his new home. As you can tell from the pictures, they suffered no lack of attention during their adventures. The first two pictures are of Hershey with his children. The next picture is of both Hershey and JD during JD's brief stay with them. The fourth picture is of JD at 18 months of age. We recently received an updated picture of Hershey -- he has matured into a very handsome boy! Hershey and his family were all set to receive one of our puppies -- a yellow female -- in April of 1999. This most recent picture (the fifth one) was sent with the caption "Hershey, Rachel, and Aaron awaiting the arrival of Honey."
Well, Honey arrived along with a yellow Lab sister named Sam that went to a friend of Hershey's family. Hershey's family babysat for a weekend and poor Hershey had to cope with two female puppies instead of the one he had planned for. But he doesn't look like he is suffering too much and for that matter neither do the puppies. Hershey and Honey's owners report that both are doing well and that Honey is adapting to her new home and new buddy, Hershey.
Hershey is no longer alone in his plight of having to live with a yellow female. JD received his own "little sister" in December 1999. Her kennel name was Scarlett and her new family calls her Khaki. Maybe JD should get some advice from Hershey about surviving as a big brother.
Another Jake, this time a chocolate, aka "Drake" by us became a well-loved member of his family in December of 1997. He hardly touched the ground for the first few weeks at his new home. He loves his children and they love him.
As Jake got older his family decided to get him a play buddy and so got Molly aka "Melanie" in late summer of 1998. She is quite the precocious pup and quickly made herself at home.
The two together find new ways to keep themselves amused and often into trouble.
Jake and Molly looking innocent and gorgeous -- two wonderful Labs, unfortunately Molly crossed the "Rainbow Bridge" recently so Jake is lonely without his companion.
Marilyn's Lady Guinevere is a dark chocolate female that is probably the most athletic dog I have ever encountered. When she swims, she is so strong that her whole chest is out of the water as she swims and she leaps 12 feet off the bank. Her favorite game is grab a toy and tease the other dogs. My daughter, Rachel (D.V.M. in Savannah, Georgia), has taken Guinevere as a companion to her male and female Akitas.
Cocoa (her real name and kennel name) lives in South Georgia along the Ogechee River. She is both a hunting and fishing companion as well as a house dog. She has a chocolate male Lab buddy in addition to her human family. She has had a litter of all chocplate puppies.
