My Little Sweetheart
-
Sadly Missed by Her Human
This is my little Bridie Muffs.
This little 5 pounder thought she was "alpha" of her pack
and made no bones about it. Bridie was my lap child. She
would circle around a few times then curl up. She fit
perfectly. She was no "kissie" baby, that's for sure. She
didn't mind you kissing her though, 'specially the curls on
the top of her head. She just loved that and when I would
stop kissing her she would stretch her head up until I
would start again.
We had a lot of different names for this little one. We
called her Bridie Muffs, Briders, Little Bit, and my
daughter's favorite name for her was "Ewok" because she
looked like a little ewok. Everyone in the neighborhood
knew Bridie. If she saw someone she especially liked, she
didn't bark or whine --- oh no, she 'WAILED'. You would
have thought someone was killing her. She sure got
everyone's attention and a lot of petting because of it.
She knew what she was doing.
For such a little one, she certainly had a mind of her own.
If she didn't want to do something, guaranteed she wouldn't
do it. Begging, pleading, coaxing, bribing didn't help.
Only when I would walk away from her would she relent.
Mom's not getting out of her sight...no way. The tears are
flowing now remembering my little baby. She's with her
mommy Gypsy and her daddy Fussymutt. They're waiting at
the Bridge patiently for the rest of us. What a wonderful
reunion that will be. I'll have my babies back again.
A ROSEBUD
When God calls little puppies to dwell with Him
above,
We humans always question the wisdom of His
love.
For no heartache can compare with the loss of one small
'child',
Who does so much to make this world seem wonderful and
mild.
Perhaps God tires - always calling the aged to His
fold,
And so He picks a rosebud before it can grow
old.
God knows how much we need them and so He picks but
few;
To make the land of heaven more beautiful to
view.
Believing this is difficult, yet somehow we must
try,
For the saddest word that mankind knows will always be
"good-bye".
And so when little pups depart; We, who are left
behind,
Must realize how much God loves
puppies....FOR ANGELS ARE
HARD TO FIND.

HAVE YOU A DOG IN HEAVEN, LORD?
Have You a dog in Heaven, Lord? And do You pat its head? Does she sit up and beg each night Before she goes to bed? Does she look up with shining eyes When she sees Your smiling face? Does she wag her curley tail When she wants to run a race? Have You a dog in Heaven, Lord? Is there room for just one more? 'Cause my little dog died today; She'll be waiting at Your door. Please take her into Heaven, Lord, And keep her there for me, Just feed her, pet her, love her, Lord, That's all she'll ask of Thee. -AUTHOR UNKNOWN-
The Starfish
Once upon a time there was a wise man
who used to go to the ocean
to do his writing.
He had a habit of walking
on the beach
before he began his work.
One day he was walking along
the shore.
As he looked down the beach,
he saw a human
figure moving like a dancer.
He smiled to himself to think
of someone who would
dance to the day.
So he began to walk faster
to catch up.
As he got closer, he saw
that it was a young man
and the young man wasn't dancing,
but instead he was reaching
down to the shore,
picking up something
and very gently throwing it
into the ocean.
As he got closer he called out,
"Good morning! What are you doing?"
The young man paused,
looked up and replied,
"Throwing starfish in the ocean."
"I guess I should have asked,
why are you throwing starfish
in the ocean?"
"The sun is up and the tide is going out.
And if I don't throw them in they'll die."
"But, young man, don't you realize that
there are miles and miles of beach
and starfish all along it.
You can't possibly make a difference!"
The young man listened politely.
Then bent down, picked up another starfish
and threw it into the sea,
past the breaking waves and said-
"It made a difference for that one."
