MIJA BASENJIS God Bless America and her Children Welcome to the Mija Basenji web site. The Mija name was derived from the names of our two sons, Michael and James.  We have been breeding and showing Basenjis since 1987.  To date twelve of our Basenjis have completed their championships, we have one nearing her title and several in the wings waiting to grow up enough to take their turns in the ring.  Please spend a little time getting to know "Our Family". We are excited to annouce the accompishments of a lovely puppy bred by Elizabeth Eytchison of Mija Basenjis. Faith, owned by Donna Aucoin and Leonard Gimlin of Cross Country Basenjis, completed her Canadian Championship with an amazing win at Cloverdale, British Columbia, on April 2, 1999. Faith, at ten months of age, is the first Best in Show winner for Mija Basenjis and our first Canadian Champion. Faith earned all of the minor points needed for her American Championship before she was nine months old and is currently working on the completion of that title. She was and always will be owner-handled when she appears in the ring.
