I enjoy photography but mostly my pictures are of places and not people. And there is a lot of beautiful scenery to be found here in Nova Scotia if you take the time to look around you.
Here are some pictures of the rest of the family. First is birdie's friend, nicknamed Ducky/Papa Duck/The Great Sir Duck, kinda gives you the idea that he likes ducks? And in the second picture, is Bluebear's boyfriend, Ducky, Birdie and Bluebear in the front.
Here are a couple of our favorite pictures of George. Like us, he has his moments of clowning around but we usually have the camera ready when he starts.
The first here is of our favorite fishing place. I love just drifting and listening to the birds while black damselflies flitter around. And sometimes even catching a fish. The flowers in the next picture are just one of the many different wildflowers that can be found in the forests around here.
These 2 pictures were taken of another favorite place of mine. The first is a little cove where I park to walk out to the rocky shore on the open ocean. When the fog comes in heavy, everything looks and sounds so different. The second picture is of the moon rising about the water on a calm night.
These 2 pictures were taken on the shore just below my house. I took them one evening while we were there fishing for mackeral. In the first, amoung the black tree trunks you can see a great blue heron standing in the water on the point. They have been regular visitors there this summer. The other photo has a seagull or dumpduck as we call them now.
The first winter picture was taken right by my house on a frosty winter late afternoon. The other was taken of a river the day after a big snowfall when the sun once again showed up.
Here are some pictures of my pets. First is my princess with my Angel. Next is myself holding our cat, Stirling Mouse, and Angel sitting with us. We had Mouse for over 17 years and he became best friends with Angel. He got his name, Stirling, because he was silver and gray and Mouse, because that was the only name he would come to. But believe me, he was not a mouse in nature. He thought nothing of attacking big black lab dogs, which would run from him. I could tell you many stories about him but I won't bore you…..unless you ask.
This is the first picture of Venus shortly after I got her and one taken last fall. You can see how much she has grown in 4 years. And she is even bigger now. I will soon have to either get her a pond to live in or find a home for her with a pond. Turtles, like many animals, are smarter than most people think. Venus knows when meal time is and is usually waiting in a certain spot in her tank where I always feed her. She can also tell the difference between people who goes near her tank. With a stranger, she will often dive into the water but when I go near, she sits on her rock and watches me.
And here is the newest member of my family sitting on Donald's shoulder. Herbie's favorite place is sitting on someone's shoulder or on the back of my neck playing in my hair. The other picture is of Donald and how I keep him in line.
